Yes. The free version is made for everyday use. You can record as many entries as you need with notes, browse the latest twelve months, use the monthly overview, search and filters, start with ready-made categories and add 2 of your own, choose your currency, set optional reminders, see last month's recap and create a full backup. On iPhone, Free also includes Home Screen widgets for quick entry, today, this month and latest entries, the Lock Screen shortcut and Today widget, and starting an expense with Siri. Pro is optional. It opens your complete history and adds unlimited custom categories with subcategories, deeper reports, spreadsheet files (CSV), PDF export and more widget options such as the weekly chart and past periods. You can get Pro as a monthly or annual subscription or as a one-time Lifetime purchase.

The iPhone version is available on the App Store. Android is coming soon with the same core features, and your household entries stay locally on your device on both platforms. Pro purchases belong to the store where they were made, so an App Store purchase does not unlock Pro on Android and a future Google Play purchase will not unlock Pro on iPhone.

Yes. Recording entries, browsing months, searching and using reports all work without an internet connection. You only need a connection to see the current Pro price, buy Pro, restore a purchase or refresh your Pro status. The app does not sync your household entries to a cloud.

Yes. In the app's settings you turn on a notification for the weekdays and time you choose; 7:00 PM is suggested. After a few days with the app, a prompt also offers the setup on its own, and you can close it. The operating system asks for notification permission only when you turn reminders on. The reminder arrives on your selected days even if you have already recorded an entry; if you stop opening the app, the pending local schedule ends after 14 days. On iOS 26 or later you can also set an alarm that rings even in silent mode and Focus. Neither uses a server or push service.

Yes, on iPhone since version 1.2.0. Home Screen widgets start a new entry and show today, this month or your latest entries; on the Lock Screen, a shortcut opens a new entry and Today shows today’s amounts. You can choose income, expenses or both, categories and the period, and hide amounts. Quick entry, Today, this month and latest entries are free; Pro adds the weekly chart, past periods and multiple categories. Your entries stay in the app on your iPhone. You can also say “Add an expense in Haushaltsbuch” to open an empty expense form; nothing is saved until you tap Save. Setup steps and all options are on the widgets page.

Yes, free since version 1.2.0. In Account, choose a currency, a short label of your own with up to three characters, or no currency at all. If you already have entries, you can change only the label or convert all saved amounts with an exchange rate you enter yourself.

On iPhone, yes. Monthly, annual and Lifetime Pro support Apple Family Sharing. With sharing enabled, one purchase can cover you and up to five other family members, so they do not each need to buy Pro separately. Everyone uses their own Apple account and keeps a separate household budget; Family Sharing unlocks Pro, but it does not share anyone’s income, expenses or notes. This benefit is specific to the Apple version.

Set up your Apple family group in iPhone Settings. For monthly or annual Pro, enable Share with Family for the subscription. For Lifetime, the organizer, purchaser and recipient need Purchase Sharing enabled; the app must not be hidden from purchase history. Then open Haushaltsbuch on the family member’s iPhone and choose Restore purchases in Account. Use each person’s own Apple Account. If access is still missing, check Apple’s sharing settings and contact support. Tips cannot be shared, and Apple purchases do not unlock the Android version.

No. Open the app and begin. There is no sign-up and no email address to enter. On the current iPhone version, the App Store handles a Pro purchase through the Apple Account already on your phone. If an Android version becomes available, Google Play will handle purchases on that platform.

Your income, expenses, categories and notes stay on your device. The app has no ads and does not analyze how you use your household budget. When the app starts with an internet connection, RevenueCat checks whether Pro is active and loads current offers, even if you never buy Pro; a purchase itself is handled by your app store. RevenueCat may receive an anonymous installation ID, device type, operating system, last-seen time, purchase details and whether a Pro offer screen was shown or tapped, but none of your household entries. No, and that is deliberate. You add entries yourself, which takes only a few seconds. Haushaltsbuch never asks for your bank login and does not import activity from your account. That keeps your household entries on your device.

Yes. The free backup file contains all your entries and categories. Keep it wherever you choose and use it to restore your data later in the app. Pro can also create a CSV file for a spreadsheet or a ready-to-read PDF for sharing and your own records, for one or more months, including months from different years.

No. On iPhone, the app excludes its entries, categories and preferences from iCloud and Finder device backups. iOS may still show a small Haushaltsbuch entry in backup settings because system-managed app metadata can remain, but your household data is not included. Create a free JSON backup regularly from Account and keep the file somewhere safe.
