Overview
The "Haushaltsbuch Budget Planer" app is a locally operating iPhone application. All income, expenses and categories you enter are stored exclusively on your device. The app does not transmit this data to a server, a cloud or any third party.
Data processing outside your device occurs only in two cases: when an in-app purchase is processed through Apple, and when the subscription status is validated through the service provider RevenueCat. Both are described separately below.
Data stored in the app
The app stores the following data locally in a SQLite database on your device:
- Transactions: type (income or expense), amount, category, date, optional note, creation and update timestamps
- Categories: name, type, sort order
- App settings such as language and display preferences
No names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, device identifiers or location data are collected. There is no user account, no registration and no sign-in. If you delete the app from your device, the locally stored data is also removed.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (performance of the usage relationship) and Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the proper operation of the app). Since the data is processed exclusively locally on your device, processing by us as controller occurs only insofar as we provide the app.
In-app purchases and subscription (Apple)
The app offers an optional "Pro" subscription via Apple's in-app purchase system (StoreKit). When you make a purchase or restore a purchase history, you are connected directly to Apple. Apple processes your payment data, your Apple ID and purchase-related metadata under its own responsibility.
We do not receive payment data or any identification data of our users from Apple. Apple only provides aggregated sales and payout data via App Store Connect.
Provider: Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland. Further information: Apple Privacy Policy.
Subscription validation (RevenueCat)
To manage and validate the subscription status, we use the RevenueCat service. The provider is RevenueCat, Inc., 144 2nd St, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA.
The app generates a pseudonymous app-user ID per device installation, which contains no login and no direct personal reference. This ID is transmitted to RevenueCat together with subscription events provided by Apple (purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund). Based on this data, RevenueCat tells the app whether a Pro subscription is currently active for this device installation.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (performance of the subscription contract). RevenueCat may also process data in the USA. Where required, transfers are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient is certified for it, and additionally on EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Further information: RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Backup and restore
The app allows you to manually export all locally stored transactions and categories as a JSON file. You can save the export file yourself, for example via the iOS Files app, or store it in a cloud of your choice. Re-import is also performed manually by you. We do not operate any backup infrastructure of our own and have no access to your export files.
What this app does not do
- No advertising or tracking SDKs, no cross-app tracking, no identifier-for-advertisers
- No analytics libraries, no third-party crash reporting
- No connections to bank accounts, payment providers or financial institutions
- No profiling, no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR
- No sale, no transfer and no commercial exploitation of your transaction data
Retention period
Transactions and categories stored in the app remain on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app.
Subscription events processed by RevenueCat are retained according to RevenueCat's retention periods. According to RevenueCat, subscription events are generally stored for the duration of the business relationship and beyond, insofar as this is required for tax or accounting reasons.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have in particular the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.
For data stored locally in the app, you can exercise your rights directly by editing or deleting them in the app itself. For data processed by RevenueCat, a message to [email protected] is sufficient; we will forward your request to RevenueCat.
Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is in particular the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen), Kavalleriestraße 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Email: [email protected], Website: https://www.ldi.nrw.de/.
Changes
We adapt this privacy policy when the app, services used or legal requirements change. We will inform you of material changes via an app update or on this page.
